Extraction

Extraction is needed when arch length descrepancy is too large to achieve good facial profile.

The limitations of the distalization, IPR and dental expansion differs by cases, but a rough guidline is as follows:

  • Distalization: 2.0 mm distal movement at the CR of the second molar.
  • IPR: 0.3 - 0.5 mm for every interproximal space
  • Dental expansion: Recommend to use default configulation. Slight expansion might be applicable as long as lingual cusps have no interference.

If the discrepancy exceeds these limits, please condier extraction to make more spaces.

To apply extraction, please click a tooth and click the red button.

IPR button

Once you click the red button, the tooth will be extracted and the distal teeth will be re-aligned automatically and a green button to revert the extraction will be shown.
